The story of Little Tivo who lives in a Mexican mountain village and raises a turkey to sell at the fair gives the author and photographer ample opportunity to explore the environment. So the book appeals on two levels. Small listeners will like the pictures as illustrating a might-be-true story from the home setting in the mountains through the adventure of market day, and the return to a happy homecoming, the pet still in Tivo's possession. Older children will find the documentary photographs informative and entertaining, with detail which gives them more than usual appeal.
