This miracle on 8th Street takes Ellen, from the midwest, to assist the Countess Gardella in the House of Etienne--chandeliers in the showroom, stars in her eyes, creations in her head. Black chiffon magic, beaded red lace. But then there's Tony, the countess' son, who has had to take over the fall line and eventually takes her over, and that vicious model--Lila, and the gala fall showing. Really, a ridiculous DIORama of brocades, velvets, satins, FABRICated for whom? Teenyboppers?
