A BREAK IN THE WEATHER

Report repeated from the September 1st bulletin, when scheduled for fall publication, as follows: "" ---- offers its remission for all the Marshalls, Fran and Henry and their two daughters- Claire and Joan- after more than a hot spell has strained the foundations of their life. For Henry, forty odd, an assistant treasurer in a bank only too aware of the shabby middle class life which is the best he can provide for his family, is nagged by failure and his spirits further with the knowledge that a vice presidency has opened up and that he may be passed over for a younger man. Fran unthinkingly is caught by the cheap sexual attraction of a man next door, stirred by feelings she has not had for many years. Cleire, in love for the first time, endures awkward to agonized moments as she brings her young man home to dinner, and Joan cannot accept the fact that there is not enough money to send her away with a friend for two weeks. The death of a wealthy old woman, Henry's client, tempts him with the chance at a little cash which will relive the economic shortcomings of the moment, but he bypasses it- just in time to learn that he will have the promotion which will restore his faith in himself and return his family's faith as well.... A woman's book, likable characters and spot recognition situations will easily enlist your sympathies and firmly secure your interest.
