KIRKUS REVIEW

I could wish there had been somewhat less space given to the familiar, more than twice told story of Alexander Graham Bell and his revolutionary discovery, and more to the countless facets of the telephone today. There is no mention, for example, of the inestimable value of the telephone in wartime: the mechanical ramifications, to most young people, are skimmed over. And there is no bibliography to young readers on to other books in the field (for example, the Dilts' book, The Telephone in a Changing World -- see last year, page 56). And no index, to give it more value in public libraries and school libraries.
