Tom Ralls loved his ex-wife enough to commit murder for the money necessary to coax her home. Tom, ""the best rifle shot in the world,"" contracts to do the job for $50,000. But the victim turns out to be the lovable uncle of his comely next door neighbor and the intended robbery/murder smells like a double-cross. So Tom pulls a fast one that leaves the old man alive and Tom holding the bag of what was supposed to be $80,000. And it's Run, Fool, Run, leaving a maze cross country during the getaway. But that's not all that amazing, if not surprising, when Tom turns out to be the hero. Read, Fool, Read...but don't say we didn't warn you.
