by Fulton J. Sheen ‧ RELEASE DATE: Nov. 4, 1957
This collection of essays is the fifth series of Bishop Sheen's television talks and ranges over a variety of topics and people, the most notable among them being essays on alcoholics, fashion, college education, Francis Thompson and the modern desert martyr, Charles de Foucauld. All the subjects and their treatment, of course, are not equally important or enlightening. But all do, whether ""popularized"" or not, invoke a favorable response from the reader which is due to the author's admirable style and clarity of thought, or, in other words, due to his good teaching. These collections are a service for the author's audience -- a wide and general audience.
