LIZARD'S SONG

As a picture book, this is little more than a triggering device--but with preschoolers it can't miss. Lizard has a song, a very simple song, that Bear covets: ""Zoli zoli zoli--zoli zoli zoli/ Rock is my home--rock is my home/ Zoli zoli zoli--zoli zoli zoli."" But as many times as Lizard teaches him the words, Bear can't remember them--until Lizard encourages him to make up his own version: ""Zoli zoli zoli--zoli zoli zoli/ Den is my home--den is my home/ Zoli zoli zoli--zoli zoli zoli."" And on the last page we see some ducks and a rabbit, encountered earlier, singing adaptations of their own. The possibilities thereafter are unlimited (and music is conveniently provided).
