THE FAITH BY WHICH THE CHURCH LIVES

Several years ago Georgia Harkness wrote The Recovery of Ideals (Scribner) which won wide praise. Here once again we find simplicity and logic as she analyzes effectively the most complicated problems of psychology, philosophy, and theology. She shows the true faith by which the Church is motivated, not as an organization, but as an organism. She shows also the importance of religion, whether personal, social, national or international, in the world today and her plea for faith is an inspiring challenge. A delegate to Oxford and Madras, the first woman to hold a professorship in theology, Miss Harkness knows whereof she writes and lives what she preaches.
