HIGHROAD TO ADDVENTURE An Anthology

A sort of Readers' Digest of top-flight personal experiences of all kinds, the world over. The editor has selected men who had legitimate business in being where they were, doing what they did, as is indicated by the list of people included. There is Winston Churchill's story of his escape from the Boers; Holdridge's experiences in British Guiana; Ellsberg salvaging the S-51, Snow's report on the 6,000 mile march of the Chinese, T.E. Lawrence on guerilla warfare in Arabia, Belbenoit's escape from Devil's Island, Sheean entering the Rif country for the second time, Dana's rounding the Horn, etc., etc. All types of men and all types of adventure -- a good job with a sure market for the armchair vagabondia.
