Illustrated with routine photos and drawings, this is a prosaic guide to the parts of a tooth and the make-up of a full permanent set, the causes and prevention of tooth and gum disease, how to brush and how often to go for a check-up, and what goes on at the dentist's office. Essentially a padded pamphlet, but it avoids the babyish inanities of Hammond's The Riddle of Teeth (1971) and Kessler's Our Tooth Story (1972).
