THE FRIGHTENED WHISPER

eechroft, an Eastern girls' boarding school, has a miscreant in its midst- formal is missing, and later a valuable Robert Burns manuscript letter. But aural (Lolly) Sinclair has a second case to solve- blackmail, and her suspicions shift from one girl to another and finally to a member of the staff before she finds the letter in the ironing board cover. There's a mild romance for New York weekends... agerly plotted and passably written- but it's hard to think these girls will ever pass their college boards.
