STRADIVARIUS, THE VIOLIN MAKER

Through the story of Stradivari of Cremona, the early history of violin making is told. Three great makers there were, -- Amati, Stradivari, and Guarneri; each one made his contribution. This is less a human story than it might be. The most interesting part deals with the description of the meticulous and skilful work that goes into making of violins. Unfortunate use of present tense spoils some of the story. Perhaps this is due to its being a translation from the Russian.
