The Prie Song: -- STORIES OF FAMOUS OPERAS

Gives background, setting, explanation of local customs which put richer meaning into the content, describes the story as it unfolds on the operatic stage, with themes introducing the characters. The Mastersingers, Madame Butterfly, Carmen, Faust, Il Trovatore, Lohengrin, Aida, La Boheme, Tristan and Isolde, Rigoletto, The Barber of Seville, The Rhinegold, The Valkyrie, Siegfried, Gotterdammerung:- these are the operas selected for presentation. The book is needed. There has been very little along this line since the outmoded Chapin books.
