This covers water birds, game and large land birds of Eastern and Central North America, from South Texas to Central Greenland. There are stunning illustrations in color by Eckleberry, and diagrams and line drawings by Earl L. Poole. The approach is similar to the -- the classification following the accepted arrangement, first the more primitive birds and on to the more specialized. Within these larger patterns, by Orders, Families, Genera and Species, with both scientific and popular English names indicated in each case.
