DEATH OF A DOLL

The author of The Pavilion reintroducing Mark East, and the adventure-avid Beulah Pond and Miss Bessy of previous books, when Hope House, a home for working girls, is involved in the death of newcomer Ruth Miller. A second attack on an inmate prevents further quashing of the first death as the ghost of Ruth Miller walks, girls whisper, and Mark East- in spite of the personnel-continues his prosecution. Accenting atmosphere once again, this is highly capable, commendable.
