TERROR BY SATELLITE

Commander Hendricks of the satellite observatory station turns into a mad scientist, threatening to destroy all vegetation on earth with a concentrated beam of radiation if he is not acknowledged dictator of the world. Since the Commander has forbidden communications between the men on the satellite and those on earth, the survival of the world is dependent on Tony Hale--a young, quick-witted mechanic who had smuggled in a short wave radio transmitter. Tony manages to keep in touch with the dauntless Chris Godfrey and makes preparations for a surprise landing by Chris, who appears triumphantly. Solid detail and smooth writing make this a gripping story.
