MURDER COMES AT NIGHT

Matt of the Clover Dairy is not -- emphatically not -- one of my favorite detectives. But I didn't feel much sympathy for the corpse this time, for skinflint Leyden was better dead. All sorts of much more likable people -- and some not so likable -- are under suspicion, for everyone has something to gain. But Matt digs in, often where he has no business to be, and helps Morris solve the mystery.
