KIRKUS REVIEW

This is a sort of mini-instant-conglomerate all run together like SIEGEwithsomeDESPERATE HOURSendingwithaMIRACLE ON 34TH STREET although of course this is only a single book-movie. Anyway a black militant organization headed by Randy Miller has been planting bombs and the latest one is designed to go off in Macy's on Christmas. It's been dropped into Santa Claus' bag and what lucky youngster got it -- has it? With the help of the March of Dimes computer and an ex-actor (the Santa Claus) who has a still better memory bank they identify the kid with a brace on his leg who will be totally dismembered. . . unless. The search is conducted by penitent black man Miller and a white cop Arch Bender (no not Bunker) and there's a simple two-toned racial message. It's for some of those who read before they look.
