There are the hideous parodies of European parties- orgies of overeating and ostentation; the scrupulous strictness of a careful Arab father who will only permit his daughter to fraternize with hospitalized Americans but is shocked by the idea that she may meet a healthy one; and a cavalcade of demented English governesses, pathological liars and prodigious athletes. Not to mention the rebels- the confused products of a hybrid world- such as the young lady so enamored of freedom that she admits to a love for ""Life with a capital F"".... An informative, nostalgic and pleasing reminiscence.
