by James Naismith ‧ RELEASE DATE: Feb. 1, 1941
The author tells how he came to invent the game of basketball, as a young instructor at the YMCA in Springfield, Massachusetts. He traces the development of the game over the years (43), changes in rules and method of play. There is, throughout, the spirit of a fine leader of youth, a spirit which infects those who play the game and those who watch it. The increasing popularity of basketball will give this book a place it might not have had a few years ago.
