Lost and likely to be found, according to Mr. Wyckoff who was obviously buoyed if not inspired by the claim, in the summer of 1967, that a newly-discovered Minoan city was part of Atlantis. He comes to this purportedly legitimizing event at the end, after a confusing resurrection of discredited and contradictory theories, an equally suspect--because it often appears to be factual--reconstruction of Atlantis and its life according to Plato's description. The text is disorderly and redundant, sources are incompletely identified and overstatement is oceanic.
