THE MAGIC COSTUMES

A game of dress-up in magical fairy clothes transports Mark and Flora to Fairyland. There, they are taken to a peppermint castle where they restore the fairy queen's crown and her power. They then return a magic cape to a lion imprisoned by snakes. Shiny foil and green velveteen are used inconsistently and inelegantly to give the pages texture. The pop-ups are lethargic, the plot unpolished. This trip to Fairyland is a fizzle.
