The author of When the Heart is Ready (1961, p.61, J-33) has whipped up a bizarre family:-- widowed father is an artist; sixteen-year-old April heads the household; husband-hunting housekeeper bustles around-- and nonetheless managed to create trite, typical situations. Despite her pressing responsibilities, April turns the romantic candle three ways, until she goes back wholeheartedly to the east unusual, most faithful of the three young men. A hodge- podge for the heart-centered set who can find more worthwhile stories on the market.
