by John D MacDonald ‧ RELEASE DATE: Feb. 22, 1970
Travis McGee and Meyer go down to Mexico to try and find the daughter of a rich and loveless father. Of those who'd known her among the dead or living dead (they're mostly phased out on drags) nobody talks and the predatory decadence of this scene has quite a hook. MacDonald, as you know, upstages almost everyone else in the genre and this has the bitter, bruised excitement you might expect. So vamonos.
