MAGIC OF THE WORLD

Books on magic multiply with almost the regularity and inevitability of the invisible rabbits in the prestidigitator's hat. The author is a well-known magician and this book is similar in approach to his John Mulholland's Book of Magic for adults. The emphasis is on skillful sleight of hand achieved with minimal equipment, constant practice, an easy air, and a showman's sense. Each chapter is based on a classic type of trick, but includes variants used in different countries. The book is directed to the performance, and offers the best of advice for how to put over a trick. The final chapter advises on planning a magic show.
