A basketball story which is more than just a good sports story. It is a plea for clean sport -- sport for sports sake, not for gamblers -- and for taking money and politics out of school sport. Don Henderson comes as coach to Springfield, Indiana. He finds the Wildcats a second rate team -- and Don sets out to prove that a team can be built without buying players -- and built into a winning team, despite the pressure of local citizens. At the close, you feel that -- though the Wildcats do not win the state championship. Springfield has won more than that. Good going.
