FLYING SKIS

An expert skier has used the setting she knows best to tell the story of Nikki Jorgensen, a young girl whose potential as a ski champ is brought out by her parents' interest and skill as well as her own faith. After a disheartening experience at a Michigan ski club, Nikki heads for Michigan's Upper Peninsula with its extra long winters and its more challenging slopes. Living with relatives and attending Kingsley High, she joins the ski team and receives the most intensive training of her life from coach Franz Steiner and heartthrob Scoop Ryan. Descriptions of ski races, their preparation and rewards will hold the attention of novice or expert along with Nikki's personal adjustment to new people and romance.
