YOU AND YOUR BRAIN

A splendid example of fine science writing for the high school level (and up) that is far superior to much that is done for adults. This well integrated and strikingly well written survey of the structure and functions of the human brain gives an authoritative description of what is known and not known about the astounding organ that regulates our existence. Showing how it is and is not like a computer, the author touches on its evolution, its physical attributes, interior processes (consciousness, memory, and thought), and its effect on the other bodily processes, as well as language. An excellent up-to-date book that is fascinating reading throughout.
