Henry Reed and Midge Glass are back in business again. The reason that the Henry Reed books (Henry Reed, Inc., and Henry Reed's Journey) are so effectively funny is that Henry's narrative is so calm, straightforward and unexaggerated, and that he and Midge walk into uproars so naturally and logically. This time it's a baby-sitting service that they provide for the community of Grover's Corner, New Jersey. While baby-sitting parodies are frequent, the experiences of Midge and Henry take on fresh ramifications as their service is advertised over the radio, their clientele grows until they corner the market, and their duties go above and beyond simple child care. Readers will still find themselves laughing at the very familiar, possible incidents.
