by Larry Kettelkamp ‧ RELEASE DATE: March 19, 1969
Don't be surprised if this disappears mysteriously from your shelves... a supernatural thief may be responsible but a more likely culprit is a lively kid who recognizes a kindred spirit. Mr. Kettelkamp, who has previously handled offbeat subjects with skill, takes the historical approach to ghosts and poltergeists and comes up with some suggestions that stand up in daylight as well as in the twilight zone. Like maybe time is a fourth dimension. Or perhaps consciousness can be separated from the body. And there is evidence to support the possibility that emotional energy can be transferred to objects. If dreams can play on words, why not believe that bottle caps popping in the bathroom have something to do with blowing your top? Once you see a twentieth century photograph of what may be a seventeenth century specter, his ideas about psychic phenomena sound even more plausible, especially when supported by authorities from the Society for Psychical Research and accompanied by diagrams.
