THE HOUSE OF THE BLUE HORSE

Val, a French refugee who lives in Maine, finds in her high school years that there are incompatibilities between the formal European attitudes and the relaxed American ones. Her struggle to find a mean between the two leads her into an association with a large and spontaneous local family. Together with her neighbors she becomes involved in a mystery concerning the former owners of the property on which she lives. Lee Kingman, author of the Village Band Mystery and other mysteries for teen-agers, integrates mystery, personal adventure, and New England atmosphere in a suspenseful and tasteful book which will appeal to the younger readers of the 13-15 age category.
