KIRKUS REVIEW

The sermons contained in this book were preached in the Methodist Church of Iowa City to overflowing congregations, half of them college students. On reading the sermons one can understand their appeal. They are vivid, practical, real, replete with telling illustrations drawn from life and current literature. They deal with problems of today's public. They are not theological, but they are deeply religious; they are not evangelistic but they are evangelical. They drive home the claims of the Christian faith in terms a modern man can understand. Preachers will find in these sermons a wealth of illustrative material for their own sermons.
