THE POWER OF STARS

Alan and Jimmy become aware of the power of stars when their friend Jane is bitten by a strangely ferocious dying rabbit, and instead of rabies as you might expect she's infected with neurons from outer space which get their energy from stars and use it to blast machines with cosmic radiation. Thus possessed, Jane zaps in turn a washing machine, the telly (in the process killing her gram whose hand was on a knob), a juke box, a plane (with five men), Alan's car, and a power plant -- while Alan and Jimmy bicker about how best to help her. A surgical solution seems near at last but while Jimmy tries to persaude Jane to have the operation she suddenly bites him and -- THUD! That's the end. Which neither resolves any issues the boys' arguments might suggest nor justifies all the outlandish agitation.
