KIRKUS REVIEW

This book is a temptation to the owner of a small plot of ground for Mr. Kains makes it sound so easy. He writes for the amateur and the small plot owner, and leaves out no steps the novice should understand in order to secure a thriving crop. He reduces the complications to the simplest routine, and proceeds from selection to planting to care and harvesting. As a professor of horticulture, the author stresses, too, the value of fruit trees and bushes in landscaping, so every gardener is a potential bential customer for this book.
