KIRKUS REVIEW

A second satisfactory case for bookshop owner Conan Flagg who becomes involved with the survivors--more sinned against than sinning--of a very rich Senator who died suddenly; a second wife said to be blind; a daughter who seems more abstract than her formless paintings; and yet another girl who cracks up and breaks down, but were her attacks induced? Flagg is a gentling presence in what is essentially an attractant for the ladies--directed at the heart rather than the head.
