WILDERNESS NURSE

The preoccupation with nursing as a career is responsible for the wide audience for the various series of nurse stories (Sue Barton series and Penny Marsh series). Here is an adult book which girls who have gone through the earlier stage will find to their liking. Denise, a born nurse, throws up her job under brusque Dr. Steele, in a moment of rebellion. She takes a vacation in Canada and then stays on to nurse in a wilderness hospital, where Dr. Ned is often unsure in his methods. There's a double romance- and a satisfying ending.
