GERTIE, THE HORSE WHO THOUGHT AND THOUGHT

For a rather matronly horse with a wistful yearning after greener pastures, Gertie has a lively sense of humor, and this story of her ups and downs is the chuckling kind. Gertie was not happy with Farmer McNab, for in spite of her efforts to do the right thing, she was generally regarded as very stupid. It is not until she is sold to a hotel manager and becomes close friends with young Tommy, who teaches her many wonderful things, that her chance comes to prove how really clever she is.
