KIRKUS REVIEW

Twain's ""radical social commentary"" culled from the corpus, in line with Geismar's previously articulated conclusion that ""far from being the embittered old man of the scholarly legend, Twain was a revolutionary temperament from the very start of his literary career (or his life) to the end."" This is fair enough -- and quotable reading.
