MAGIC MAIZE

The authors of The Apple and the Arrow- about William Tell, and Peter's Pinto- a story with a Mormon background- with an exciting adventure that reveals some truths about a simmering country- Guatemala. When his wandering brother Quin visits Fabian, an Indian boy, and gives him some gringo corn kernels, Fabian must plant them in secret by some old Mayan ruins, to keep from arousing his prejudiced father's anger. While planting Fabian finds a valuable earplug. Later he is able to help some visiting archeologists who in turn help pacify Fabian's father and finance a promising boy's education.
