by Olaf Stapledon ‧ RELEASE DATE: July 15, 1936
Wellsian in concept is this story of a superman from his earliest childhood to his death. The progress of his self education, his inventive ability and growing wealth, his despair at mankind and his voluntary isolation until he understands his destiny, his telepathic searches for others of his kind and the founding of a colony where they can work out their ideas....and their eventual self destruction. In a sense, a commentary on current modes of life and thought and practice -- meat for those who like imaginative reading, provocative and outside the conventional channels. Not a book for a wide market.
