A Paul Brown picture book is automatically assured a certain market. Add to that, the polo enthusiasts, both players and observers, and you have a special audience as well. This is not an instruction book, but in graphic line drawings, bold black and whites, and concise captions, the play of the game is followed, step by step, -- strokes, mallet work, fouls and penalty shots. He recreates famous plays and team work. The start of the book gives information on the field, equipment, gear, ponies (the cost and requirements) -- play and team. Rules of the game are given. The lists of member clubs, the 1949 handicap list, for both outdoor and indoor polo. Bound in heavy board.
