by Peggy Parish ‧ RELEASE DATE: May 15, 1974
Anyone who thinks that dinosaur names are too big for small readers has never tried to bring the two together. To be safe Peggy Parish gives the phonetic pronunciations at the head of each short, simple one-page introduction (to stegosaurus, diplodocus, ankylosaurus, and so on through eleven more to tyrannosaurus) and ends each one with a repetition of the name. Arnold Lobel contributes full-page action portraits, and we expect that lots of new readers will want to make library hour dinosaur time.
