. . . one small girl slid down the roof in her nightclothes. In the barn and by the rain barrel, with kittens and a cricket as companions, she found rainy delight. This small book is a pleasant miniature. Though the meter is mongrel, the heroine is a bouncy miss in a sprigged nightdress, not unlike a Hummel figure, whose predicament when she remembered the door was locked after her adventure ended should please small folks. Nice for bedtime. It could fit at the top of a Christmas stocking too. The illustrations are in color. A read-aloud picture story book with two lines of verse on each small page.
