ODD -- BUT EVEN SO

Subtitled ""Stories Stranger than Fiction"" -- so perhaps it should not be rated as fiction. But they are tall tales, labelled ""Queer"" and ""Quaint"", with such of the basis in the supernatural, with before or after death as the springboard. Hauntings, telepathy, visions, revenge, inhuman justice, bewitchments mixed in with romance, marital troubles, regiment action and personalities, small comedies and melodrama. Inventive time-passers, laid for the most part in foreign lands, -- the East , Central America, etc. The best of the lot is The Perfect Murder, good surprise job. Storytelling -- not art.
