by Peter O'Donnell ‧ RELEASE DATE: Nov. 12, 1971
The title referral is to a gold mine in Africa, not of course to Modesty Blaise who's around again, and so is her co-worker Willie Garvin (although for a week he is mourned as dead and how could he survive that drastic scene in an airplane?), and so also is a nice, vague doctor Pennyfeather who has the right clinical intuitions, and so are some ugly characters masterminded by the deadly Brunel. . . . All impossibly impossible and just as justifiable as the smashing entertainment that it is.
