GIANTS AND WITCHES

And some dragons, too -- and princesses and princes and peasants and a few chills running down the spine. Perfect story-telling material in an original selection of tales from -- for the most part -- rather modern collections of legends and folklore. The old witches usually get their comeuppance, and I think I liked tham even better than the giants, though I found some new giants --Irish, English, Welsh, Albanian in origin. A few old favorites, or new versions of old favorites -- but fresh all in all, as is to be expected from the compiler of Time to Laugh and There Was a Horse. The Henry C. Pits black and whites are superb. A fine piece of book-making.
