Another story of piracy in the Caribbean and around the Horn (see Your Orders, Sir- 1953) continues the adventures of Midshipman Jonithan Amory just after the war of 1812. Assigned to the frigate Petrel, Jonithan has heavy duties as one of the few officers aboard. As they head south he and his mates soon have their first encounter with the work of Gambi, a pirate renegade from Lafitte's outfit, and many are the storms, battles and disasters before the Horn is rounded and the pirate bunch over- taken at Valparaiso. Standard cops and robbers but good Navy atmosphere.
