CHILDREN NEED ADULTS

The emphasis is on guidance for self control, the beginnings of discipline, routine, science, art and religion for nursery and kindergarten ages are discussed. The standards that are the objectives are explained, and experiences are detailed on that parents -- from patient observation and growing knowledge of the stages to be expected -- may cooperate in helping the child develop. The material is based on the work of the Nursery School and Kindergarten of the Riverside Church (Dr. Fosdick's church) and follows in a sensible manner the general trend of recent studies. The religious side makes this particularly valuable for similar projects; but its value is not confined to institutional use, but is intended for parents as well.
