JUNIOR MISS

Another New Yorker series in book form, appealing, often amusing, a modern sub-sub-deb, the central figure. Judy is almost 14, and her age complicates not only her own life, but that of her parents and sister. Big sister contributes most of the flies in the ointment; Mr. and Mrs. Graves try hard to meet each situation with grace and intelligence; but Judy, awkwardly uncertain of her own potentialities, generally beats them.
