RIP AND ROYAL

This popular author always manages to catch the warmth and tenderness in an animal's relation with children, and this touching story is no exception. Peggy Brown loved her beautiful collie, Royal, but Royal did not seem suited to the city. Peggy did not know, of course, that Royal had been trained as a working dog on the farm. When the family visit the country, Peggy discovers that Royal would slip away to help Farmer Kirk herd the cows, doing what he was meant to do. Peggy is forced to make a sad decision, and gives Royal to Mr. Kirk. But the story is a happy one, as there is mischievous Rip, the cocker, who promises to be great fun.
